Beginning on July 18, weather permitting, damaged sidewalks and curbs will be replaced on the South and West sides of the library. During the construction, the South parking lot and sidewalk will be closed to patrons. For your safety, we ask that you avoid the construction by parking in the North parking lot.
Beginning November 9th and continuing through November 22nd, the Library will be accepting responses to a brief three question survey regarding library services. Survey responses will be used to begin an update of our Strategic Plan.
The survey is anonymous and asks the following questions:
- Are you a Milford resident?
- What do you like best about the Milford Public Library?
- What would you change about the Milford Public Library?
You can participate in the survey in several ways:
*Fill out the survey online at www.milfordlibrary.info by clicking on the banner at the top of the page that says MPL Survey
* Fill out the paper survey available at the Library and drop it in the survey box located at the Circulation Desk
*Write your answers on a blank sheet of paper and drop it in the survey box located at the Circulation Desk or mail it to the Library (330 Family Drive, Milford 48381).
On July 1, the Library will be making the transition from cable Internet service to fiber Internet service. Fiber promises a speedier and more stable connection than the current cable option. There will likely be some brief Internet downtime during the transition.
Beginning on July 16, weather permitting, damaged sidewalks and curbs will be replaced on the North side of the library. During this work, the accessible ramp on the North side will be completely replaced for the safety of our patrons. During the construction, the North parking lot and sidewalk will be closed to patrons. For your safety, we ask that you avoid the construction by parking in the South parking lot. The 24 hour Materials Return box will be re-located to the South parking lot for the duration of the construction.
You can help plan the future of library service in Milford by participating in our Community Conversations forums coming later this year. These one hour long forums will give the public an opportunity to provide feedback on current services and help prioritize potential new services in a time of limited budgets. Sessions will be limited to no more than 20 participants and preregistration is required.
Library staff will be using the results of these conversations to update the Library’s Strategic Plan. The forums will start with a very brief update on the current state of library service and then proceed to an open conversation about the future.
Best of all, light refreshments will be served!
Dates and times to be announced soon.
