Milford Community Information Network

Terms of Participation for MCIN Information Providers

The Milford Community Information Network (MCIN) is an initiative of the Milford Township Library. As part of our mission to meet the educational, informational, recreational and cultural needs of area residents, the Milford Township Library is developing the Milford Community Information Network. MCIN is an electronic civic network linking area residents, local government, businesses, health care, educational, human service and cultural organizations to each other and to the world.

Local organizations are encouraged to participate in MCIN. Library staff will develop a World Wide Web site for eligible organizations and provide assistance necessary to maintain it.

Your organization is eligible to participate if:

it is a non-profit or charitable organization serving the Milford community.
the organization provides MCIN with information (preferably in electronic format) that is accurate, current and appropriate.
the information published is relevant to the mission of your organization. Announcements of fundraising activities must be for support of the non-profit organization only.
the information conforms to local, state, federal, and international law, including copyright law. If material in violation of such laws is discovered, it will be removed.
the information is maintained in a timely manner to meet the library's scheduled deadlines. The status of the site will be checked periodically and, in consultation with the organization, a determination will be made regarding its continuation.
If an eligible organization already has a Web site, MCIN will provide a link to it.

Additionally:

Milford Township Library has final say regarding acceptability of all content on MCIN.

Initially, participant Web sites may include HTML documents and static images. Any functionality requiring the installation of executable files on the server cannot be accommodated.
