How Do I Use the Library's Computers?
The Milford Public Library provides public use computers for patrons to access commonly used software. Computers are offered on a first come, first served basis. Read more about our public computers.

How Can I Give a Memorial or Commemorative Gift?
A gift to the library can either be given “in memoriam”or to commemorate an occasion, a birthday, anniversary or other milestone. Library staff will send an acknowledgement to the donor and to the person (or the family of the person) being honored. A bookplate will be inscribed with the name of the honoree and the donor and placed inside an item. Simply fill out the form and send in or stop in and drop off.

How Do I Make a Monetary Donation?
Checks can be written to the Milford Public Library and mailed to 330 Family Dr., Milford, MI or dropped off in person. In addition, financial donations can be made by using our PayPal donation button.

How Can I Pay a Fine?
The Library is now Fine Free! Material returned to the Library does not incur daily overdue fines. Items that are not returned will be charged the full replacement cost upon reaching lost status.

How Do I Put an Item on Hold?
You can call the library to place a hold or use the online libary catalog to place a hold yourself.
To contact the library, call the library at (248) 684-0845 and choose either the Adult Services desk or the Youth and Teen Services desk from the automated menu and we will be happy to place the hold for you.
Or you may place a hold yourself by following the steps below:
- Find the item for which you want to place a hold.
- Click on the Details of that item.
- Click on Place Hold.
- Type in your library card number (no spaces or dashes)
- Type in your Personal Identification Number (PIN). If you haven't changed your PIN it is either changeme if you received your card prior to March 2007 or 1234 if you received it after that date. Check with library staff if you're not sure what your pin is.
- Choose the library at which you'd like to pickup the item.
- Click on Place Hold.
Depending on your preference, you will receive a phone call, an email, or a text message when the item is waiting for you. Items can only be held for 4 days before they are returned to the owning library and/or made available for other library patrons. If you are concerned that your hold will be filled when you are on vacation, you can suspend it via My Account in the catalog.

How Do I Donate Books and other Materials?
Gifts of books, books on CD, music CDs and other materials are accepted by the library on a conditional basis. Materials should be published within the last five years, clean, undamaged, and free of odors and mildew. The library cannot accept donations of textbooks, back issues of magazines, newspapers, Reader's Digest condensed books, records, or musical cassette tapes. Donated materials may be added to the collection or forwarded to the Friends of the Library for the "Friendly Finds" Bookstore. Items not suitable for the library's collection or for the bookstore may be discarded, recycled, or donated to other organizations.

How Do I Renew Materials?
Materials owned by the Milford Public Library may be renewed twice unless the item has been reserved by another patron. Items may be renewed in one of five ways:
- In person at the Circulation Desk.
- By telephone call to the Circulation Department.
- By automated phone renewal at 888-672-8983.
- Online at www.milfordlibrary.info
- Through the online catalog.
Patron and material barcode numbers are needed for renewals by phone. Renewals completed at an online catalog workstation or via the web also require a PIN number.

How Do I Renew My Child's Library Card?
Children under eighteen must be accompanied by a parent or guardian to get a library card.

How Do I Get a Library Card?
Milford Public Library cards are available to:
- Residents of Milford Township and the Village and to
- Non-resident property owners with tax proof for a three year card, renewable with current year's tax proof verification.
- Non-resident employees of a local business with proof of employment for a one year card, renewable with current year's employment verification.
Children under eighteen must be accompanied by a parent or guardian to get a library card.
Cards may be issued to non-residents at an annual fee of $150.00 per household. Non-resident cards are valid at this library only.
To get a card, you need identification with your name and current mailing address. A current driver's license, rent receipt, checks with printed address, and postmarked utility bills are examples of proof of address.

Can I print from my mobile/laptop to a library printer either at the library or from home?
Yes! With our new MobilePrint Service, you can use your personal computer or mobile device to print to the library's printers from anywhere. Simply submit documents for printing and come to the library to pay for your printing, release your print job and pick up your document using your library card or email address.
