Overdrive eBooks,  Audiobooks and Magazines

Library ebooks, e-audio books, and digital magazines are loaned through Overdrive, our digital media collection service. You can browse and check out books through Overdrive's Libby app or you can also browse and check out digital items directly through the Milford Library catalog. You can check out up to 6 titles at one time with a loan period of 7, 14 or 21 days. Milford Library is part of an agreement with eight institutions sharing access to our Libby collections. This means that including our 71,000+ titles you have access to over 200,000 titles!

Magazines formerly available through RB Digital have moved to Overdrive's Libby app. Magazines borrowed through Libby do not count toward the checkout limit for books and audiobooks.

If you have no reading device, many books are available in Overdrive Read, a browser based reading app that works on a computer. When you select a title, click borrow, then choose “Read Now” on the loans page; an app will open the book. A menu in the upper left corner will help you navigate.

Nook, Sony and other older e-readers older use the Adobe Digital Editions program to manage library e-books. For detailed instructions, visit the following page: https://help.overdrive.com/customer/portal/articles/1481624

First-time users can sign up for Overdrive through the Libby App:
For IOS users, download the app here.
For Android users, download the app here.
For those using a Windows 10 computer, download the app here.

Overdrive is also compatible with Kindle readers. Kindle Fire users can download the app or use the browser method and check out items through their Amazon account.

Once you complete this one-time process, you are ready to start browsing the downloadable audiobooks and ebooks.
