Digital Resources

If you are looking for magazine or newspaper articles, try using one of the library's online resources by clicking here. The library provides access to a number of licensed-only databases funded by the State of Michigan. Many of these databases contain full-text articles not often indexed by search engines such as Google. You can use our databases to find popular or scholarly articles from magazines, journals, and newspapers on a wide variety of topics, for both adults and youth. Topics range from genealogy to car repair to world history and many more.

Online database articles from magazines such as Newsweek, Time, The New York Times, etc. are digitized versions of the magazine or newspaper and are considered a print reference when teachers require printed sources for homework assignments.

For ancestry research, the library has a paid subscription to Ancestry Library that supplements the State of Michigan's Heritage Quest.

For assistance on a wide-variety of human services in the Oakland, Wayne, Macomb, Washtenaw and Monroe counties, try United Way of Southeastern Michigan's comprehensive database mi211.org
